About Sam Chui

My dedication and obsession with commercial airplane travel and photography has taken me on journeys into many remarkable places throughout the World.

Sam Chui is an avid aviation enthusiast who currently resides in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Grew up in Hong Kong, his fascination about airplanes stemmed from visiting Kai Tak airport after school as a teenager. His first flight aboard was on a United Airlines B747 from Hong Kong to Tokyo. Since then Sam has been amazed by airplane and travel. It is that precious feeling being in the air, looking out the window at 39,000 feet, that curiosity of flying developed Sam's passion towards commercial airplanes. Sam got hold of a SLR camera in 1998 and started to photograph airplanes in both slides and print format. He has developed a deep passion within his heart on plane spotting and collecting photographs of different airlines in the world. The endless photographic opportunities, the surprises during photographing, the friendship uniting the hobby, the opportunity to travel and share with others are the things he enjoyed most.

 Sam has traveled to over 50 countries, flown over 1000 flights and log over 2 million miles around the globe to pursue his passion - photographing airplanes. Sam provides professional photo-shooting services for any aviation-related opportunities and events, such as air shows, public relations events, emergency response exercises, airport operations, conferences, airline publicity stunts and aerial photography anywhere in the world. Sam also contributes regularly to many worldwide aviation industry publications.
