United First class Suite is super cool, but food are rather much the same as their Business class, amenity kit are great and service are very good by some very experienced crew. 1st class have PTV 9 channels and Personal Video Player, can play over 30 title from UA library. Great Variety.

Dec 7   UA867 LAX-MIA N649UA B767-300 F class
Takeoff Runway LAX  25R
Landing Runway MIA  09R

United B763 F class is not a sleeper bed, but 64 pitch and almost 170 degrees reclinable. This sector count as an Int'l sector, as we continue to Santiago, Chile with the same plane stopover at Miami for 2 hours.

Dec 7   UA867 MIA-SCL N649UA B767-300 F class
Takeoff Runway MIA  09L
Landing Runway SCL  17

The plane after ontime pushed back from gate, held at taxiway for over 20 mins, apparently a FA spotted a door not fully shut. So we taxied back to terminal again, the ground crew carried out repairs and made sure the door is fully tightly in place. I have to say some of UA's FAs are very experienced, even a little thing go wrong, they are not leaving any chances, passenger can be assured flying United safety is number one issue. As a result of repair, we are late for takeoff 1.5 hr late at 0115am. Arrived into Santiago 1 hour late. UA have a nice hub in Miami, every night 11pm, it gets very crowded at F concouse, 4 flights to Buenos Aires, Rio, Sao Paulo and Santiago awaits along with Iberia A340 to Madrid.

Dec 9   LA283 SCL-PUQ CC-COD A320 Y class
Takeoff Runway SCL  17

This A320 have 2 class, with 16 F and 128 Y class I think. Pretty good service, the plane stopover at Puerto Montt enroute to Punta Arenas (PUQ). Total flight time to the Southern most city is 4h 15mins. Mostly clear weather all the way to the South. You can see some volcanoes, snow covered peak mountains enroute. Punta Arenas have 5 Lan Chile flights served per day from Santiago and one to Falkland Islands, most flight were packed as summer is their tourist peak season.

Again a fully booked almost all tourist flight, this A320 is VP-reg, not CC- . All Y class lay out, felts more cramp than the other one I flown to PUQ. Service was ok, Salmon for lunch, thats all they have, loads of seafood and salmon freshly carried by the plane to Santiago with us!

Dec 15  UA866 SCL-MIA N663UA B763 C class
Takeoff Runway SCL  17
Landing Runway MIA  30

Great service, but apparently, we are the only few 'paying' customer in C class were packed with upgraders, I suspect this is because of people rush to cashed out their Mileage Plus miles, UA declared Ch11 when I was in Chile. The crew and all FAs, acts calmly and normal as if they don't know UA is in Ch11. This is real professionalism that I don't see lots of airline have provided the same kind of professionalism. I love the humour and Santa apron and hat wore by the UA FAs. The jokes and humour and relax atmosphere makes UA stands out and that's why I prefer UAL over the well 'oversquared' Asian airlines such as Singapore.

Dec 24  UA419 MIA-DEN N565UA B752 F class
Takeoff Runway MIA  9L
Landing Runway DEN  35L
FL 390
POB: 81/182

Very empty but comfy flight, we have only 7 out of 24 F class pax this time, so I have the luxury to have a spare seat next to me. Purser Anne Mills #189772 is a real charmer that she sat next to me almost 1 hour before landing DEN, we have a good chat and she is a very talented and young sweet and soft voiced UA FAs (only with UA 6 yrs). I told her Singapore Airlines suck big time (IMHO) and she agreed fully with me. I told her I think SQ FAs 'pad their boobs' that got her laughing very long......Excellent time and the captain is a female too!

Normal flight, DEN based crew are also very outgoing and warmth, fell into sleep right after took off. Didn't recored much.

Dec 24   UA863 SFO-SYD N174UA B744 C class
Takeoff Runway SFO 28R
Landing Runway SYD 16R
FL360
POB: 333/347

Kinda suprised UA didn't upgrade me to F class as there are some seats opened and C/Y was all full. Very experienced crews again as UA put the most senior crew flying Transpacific! I love their sweet voice when making flight announcement though!! The FAs have very good memory and remember my name from beginning right to the end! I think United depstite the financial trouble, it have some really great assets: Human resources and talents! I have seen every UA employee stay strong, not showing one per cent of worry about their company's future, this is a great team work and touching moment to see the trouble, have not segregate them, but bond them closer than ever!! United will always be on my #1 carrier list for myself and my families. Thank You United for carry us over half the world and safely back again!!!
